Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the bright and morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
and watch me rise again
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I am yours

Jokes
The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray: 'Take only ONE. God is watching.' Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies. A child had written a note, 'Take all you want. God is watching the apples.'
The last fight was my fault.
My wife asked,"What's on the TV?"
I said, "Dust!"
Young Son: "Is it true, Dad, I heard that in some parts of Africa a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her?"
Dad: "That happens in every country, son."
Beware of Garbage Trucks By David J. Pollay
How often do you let other people's nonsense change your mood? Do you let a bad driver, rude waiter, curt boss, or an insensitive colleague ruin your day? Unless you're a robot, you are bound to blow your top off. However, the mark of a successful person is how quickly he or she can get back his or her focus on what's important.
Sixteen years ago, I learned this lesson. I learned it in the back of a New York City taxi cab.
I hopped in a taxi, and we took off for Grand Central Station. We were driving in the right lane when, all of a sudden, a black car jumped out of a parking space right in front of us. My taxi driver slammed on his brakes, skidded, and missed the other car's back end by just inches!
The driver of the other car, the guy who almost caused a big accident, whipped his head around and he started yelling bad words at us.
My taxi driver just smiled and waved at the guy. And I mean he was really friendly. So, I said, 'Why did you do that? This guy almost ruined your car and sent us to the hospital!'
And this is when my taxi driver told me what I now called, 'The Law of the Garbage Truck'.
Many people are like garbage trucks. They run around full of garbage, full of frustration, full of anger, and full of disappointment. As their garbage piles up, they need a place to dump it. If they happened to dump it on you, don't take it personally.
You just smile, wave, wish them well, and moved on. You'll be happier if you did that rather than fight them.
So this was it: 'The Law of the Garbage Truck'.
I started thinking, how often do I let garbage trucks run right over me? And how often do I take their garbage and spread it to other people: at work, at home, on the street? It was that day I said, 'I'm not going to do it anymore.' I see garbage trucks everywhere and everyday. I see the load they're carrying. I see them coming to drop it off. And like my taxi driver, I don't make it a personal thing; I just smile, wave, wish them well, and I move on.
Good leaders know they have to be ready for their next meeting. Good parents know they have to welcome their kids home from school with hugs and kisses. Teachers and parents know that they have to be fully present and at their best for the people they care about.
The bottom line is that successful people do not let garbage trucks take over their day. What about you? What would happen in your life, starting today, if you let more garbage trucks pass you by?
Personality test
Took this at http://www.quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx. Think Kenneth started it first? Hee.
Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties. (Am I really that straightforward, I wonder?)
The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes. (This is quite accurate but I do love humour and humility in them too.)
Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You prefer to get to know a person very well before deciding whether you will commit to the relationship. (Perhaps this is the reason why I am still single? B-) Keke.)
The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with? (I flirt? Huh? :o Admirers hanging off my arms? Where?)
Your views on education:
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can. (What else can I say?)
The right job for you:
You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life. (Yes, I love children!)
How do you view success:
You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous. (What’s that? Nanny?)
What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel. (Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps…)
Who is your true self:
You are full of energy and confidence. You are unpredictable, with moods changing as quickly as an ocean. You might occasionally be calm and still, but never for long. (And I thought I am wacky only when I lack sleep? Hoho.)
Others
Super sexy in his off-shoulder black top! As usual, Jojo is a lodestone for curious eyes.
It’s Sylvia’s birthday on Thursday so I bought her a piece of cake on Wednesday while we were supposedly studying for our test later in the evening.
I had to order a drink to ‘secure’ our seats at the café. Decided on this peach soda which is an utter disappointment. Don’t usually take carbonated drinks but… Should have bought my hot chocolate.
Ate these before the test at 7.30pm - just in case hunger strikes.
The five hours break before the test on Wednesday was the reason why Sylvia, Shuxin, Marie and I turned restive at the café. We started to chat and our topics included MJL, DLT, DAL, DRT, MKO, our individual love history… … Haha, girls! Finally, the tests are over. I would say they are rather tricky. Next? Assignments! I-)
Made a joke out of myself before tutorial on Tuesday. I was peering into the classroom out of curiosity because everyone was waiting outside. When I turned around, I stared straight into DRT’s face, to which I jumped, made a funny sound and shocked expression. And she laughed at me! Can you imagine? So silly of me! But it was truly amusing – I don’t mind making a fool out of myself if it makes someone else’s day. :o)
Mich called on Monday night when I was studying for my test. Thanks for confiding in me and of course, for sharing your song from deep within. Thanks for listening to me too and offering that ‘out of sight, out of mind’ theory but it is kind of hard. :-$
Tommy got me a pair of shoes! So blessed, right? I mean, he could have used his points to exchange for something else. It is an opportunity cost! And my much cherished second family made the way to IMM just so that I could have dinner with them. And I could rattle any thing to Tommy and Sharon - my struggles, mundane daily stories, him, silence etc. Their patience and love never seem to run dry. God bless them! (“,)
Wendy dreamt of Jojo calling me ‘Godma’. So adorable! And she sent me an sms on early Monday morning just to tell me this. Know she is up to her neck with work but hope that she will take care of herself too.
