Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the bright and morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
and watch me rise again
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me
Whom shall I fear
Whom shall I fear
I am yours

Some of the things which made me laugh during camp:
When you are stunned by something, just say that it is stunning.
Many asked me about my age. Think I am the oldster is the camp. Well, nothing to be ashamed of, I guess, to be 7 X 4 years old this year. Yah, don’t give me that stupefied expression. Haa.
If you are single and unavailable, it could mean that you are not straight. Else, you could also be exploring a relationship with someone.
I cannot believe that girls can have full make-up on for camp until I saw with my own eyes. *salute*
Knock knock. Who’s there? Amos. Amos who? A mosquito.
Knock knock. Who’s there? Anna. Anna who? Another mosquito.
The cheer that converted the world:
I’ve got a fever
Mai lai lah
(slow) H-E-R-O
(fast) H-E-R-O
We are we are we are we are we are we are
H-E-R-O
Si shua shua si shua shua si shua shua hoot hoot
Si shua shua si shua shua si shua shua yeah
Si shua shua si shua shua si shua shua hoot hoot
Si shua shua si shua shua si shua shua yeah
Oh……….. Heroes!
Achilles’ Wow Cheer:
This year the Achilles are very very awesome
Wah, so awesome! Wah, so awesome!
This year the Achilles guys are very very shuai
Wah, so shuai ah! Wah, so shuai ah!
This year the Achilles gals are very very cheo ah
Wah, so cheo ah! Wah, so cheo ah!
Oh………. Achilles!

Rise and Rumble Camp 08 was terribly exhausting for me but I am so glad to have participated – got to know many new fabulous friends! Although there were hiccups because it was a camp for 4oo over freshies, I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Suffered from extreme sleep deprivation (less than 2 hours for each night), which was lethal combined with the demanding activities during daytime – especially Amazing Race in town for almost 6 hours. Thank God I didn’t lose my voice with all the cheering (though I am definitely not in the condition to sing) – love our awesome group Wow Cheer and dramatic family Hero Cheer! We conquered the world, or like what Alvin said, we converted the world when 3 other families (Titans, Olympians and Warriors) joined us in our family cheer. Despite not having won any thing, it was really the fun we had through the camp which will last. The camp has ended but the friendships perpetuate!
Thanks to Alfred for teaching me so many things with patience.
Thanks to Satiish for being an excellent family head.
Thanks to Mahathir for creating so much fun.
Thanks to Jess for the name tags and more.
Thanks to Si Hua for making me feel welcomed into the family.
Thanks to Alvin for being the man brilliant in Geography.
Thanks to Aqilah, Qian Ling and Yan Ping for a wonderful Fright Night with plenty of drama, laughter and screams. A male freshie just told me that it was a total success.
And thanks to all my freshies (yes, we will meet up soon) for being so accommodating towards my inadequacies as an OGL.
Thanks to a gem for the roll of scotch tape.
Thanks to Tommy for sending Alfred, Mahathir and me home.
Thanks to my friends who have been praying for me.
Thanks to all who had made this camp possible!

On the way for Amazing Race.

Made up for Fright Night.

Jess thinks Lucas is cute and so we took a picture of them. Looks really compatible, huh? *grinz*

And friends are friends forever...
Gathering for Hero's OGLs this Sunday and Tiish is treating! Cool!

Cameron Highlands and KL trip was fun with family. It was a pity that Justin wasn’t with us. Bought his favourite dried mango for him. The rides were bumpy and I couldn’t rest well – neck discomfort. Love the cool weather at the highlands. Strawberry picking was fun but I had to pay more because we exceeded ‘the amount’ (which wasn’t stipulated!). We spent RM 44 (inclusive of RM4 for tips) for 20 ‘solid’ durians (the seller gave us extra 4). Was the masseuse for the night for free – massaged mum, dad and Aunt Monica. The trip was overflowing with treats for our taste buds. Overall, great bonding time for the eleven of us! Here's a glimpse to our trip!
This bowl of dried kuey teow for breakfast was overwhelming with a strong curry powder mixed in with the gravy! Uniquely different from what we have in Singapore.

Cactus galore! I couldn't resist and bought 3 back. But dad says he doesn't want them at home. Anyone wants to adopt them?

Hanging strawberries - so cute!

These are strawberries from other countries - totally succulent and bursting with love!

With Esther at a small waterfall.

Family chilling out in a shop near a tea plantation.

Tea plantation.

Look at how well Esther slept!

The mobile durian stall from which we feasted while standing.

The Than Sisters - (from left to right, oldest to youngest) Aunt Monica (dua yi), mum, Aunt Ruby (sa yi) and Aunt Tina (si yi).

Kinder Joy for close to S$2 each in KL.

The Soh family.

My lovely cousins - Krystal and Esther.

Dua yi bought these expensive chocolates for me! Yum yum.

Thank God for this wonderful time of bonding! He blesses and blesses!

Look at Joash and his new trolley! I am so fascinated with his new toy, as well as the goodies which came along with it.

Imitations of Pocky?

Adorable!

Very purplish Covenant - can't wait for her first service!

I was so angry today that I cried. Felt so wrongly accused. Just because I kept silent does not mean that I will continue to tolerate unreasonable demands made by her. The coordinator, R***, actually said that I am irresponsible, gave me a piece of her (unsound) mind and put down the phone without a proper 'goodbye'!
If I were irresponsible, I wouldn't be at least 30 minutes early for each enrichment class to make sure that everything is in place. If I were irresponsible, I wouldn't have tried my best to teach terribly rowdy children. If I were irresponsible, I wouldn't have questioned her on her rationales for doing certain experiments. If I were irresponsible, I wouldn't have spent extra time learning how to use the apparatuses so that I don't shortchange the pupils. If I were irresponsible, I wouldn't have called her to inform and explain about the situation.
All because I failed to do the experiment on Datalogger and it wasn't even my fault. The other trainer in the computer lab refused to let me have the room, which was what we had previously agreed on! She even said that my students were too noisy to have hands-on. The trainer had taken the wrong class and managed to only solve her hiccups at 2.30pm, which was 45 minutes past the starting time of the enrichment class. My fault?
R*** had wrongly reprimanded me in front of other trainers before and I just kept quiet because I didn't want to kick up a big fuss. Then she called and apologised. What's done was done. The hurt had been inflicted. So what if she is stressed? Does that warrant disrespect on her part towards trainers? She actually did the same thing to another trainer yesterday - this poor trainer was so distressed that she confided in Huixian and I on the journey away from school. Today, she vented it out on me. This will be my last time working with EMC - R*** has completely ruined the reputation of her company. It's the same for Huixian - working with such a coordinator simply stresses us emotionally and physically.
R*** said that she will call again. If she does, I want to reason things out with her, tell her the truth about her greatly flawed working style and questionable character. That is, if she calls me. Yes, my silence is not equivalent to agreement nor acceptance. I will not allow myself to be falsely accused in this manner!

TomSumJo bought me black sesame paste from Toa Payoh! Isn't my second family sweet? I really appreciate them because they always think of me and love me through small but thoughtful gestures. Thanks for the sweet treat, love you!

Went to Funan to collect Justin's free HP Mini-Note PC with him. We reached there around 1pm and the queue was atrocious - the number was around 300 and the number on Justin's ticket was 1066! We decided to go for lunch and I had Tom Yam Noodles at the food court. When we strolled back at around 3pm, the queue number was around 500. Then a very patient female CSO came out of nowhere and started explaining to the crowd that there might not be enough laptops to meet the demand, especially for those having queue numbers beyond 1100. She suggested that we could either continue to wait or come back again in August. Justin was pretty determine and so we decided to try our luck. Guess what? There was this auntie who moved towards me and she asked me if I was there to collect the free computer. I said yes and she passed me a ticket rather sneakily. It was number 508! I took a quick glance at the screen and they were serving number 507! My bro promptly manoeuvred his way and it took him less than 5 minutes to land his hand on his new HP Mini. We thanked that kind auntie profusely and I managed to get a shot with her. Guess what again? She said that she passed the ticket to me because I am pretty! Hahaha. What a compliment! I think people who are slightly more senior are inclined to like me. Call this 老人缘? Hee. Anyway, I could only thank God because we had time to go down to Sim Lim to buy my camera! Finally bought my Lumix FX36 - bought black so that Justin could use it. Was contemplating the one in lilac initially because it is very sweet. Am over the moon now because it is a very good buy at Allan Photo! Yipee!

I really love this Country Apple body spray (left) which Christine gave me quite some time back, but I couldn't seem to find it anywhere in Singapore. Am trying to use it sparingly. Then, I found this Cucumber Melon (right), which is in the same series as Country Apple under Bath and Body Works Pleasures. There were others but only this and another (bought it for Sharon - advance birthday gift) caught my attention. It is so refreshing! Hm... ...

Tommy took this while I was stealing a peck on his son. Hee. Love his smile!

There are preparations to be made for the Orientation Camp next Monday. Check it out at http://www.babscorientation08.blogspot.com/. Received the list of numbers I am supposed to call to remind the freshies on the attire to wear, family and group names etc. Realised that they are much younger than I - difference is close to a decade. Am regretting - why did I volunteer myself??? Will I have the energy to keep up with them? Generation gap? Communication breakdown due to different lingo? Anyway, I am partnering a guy called Alfred. Our Family name is Heroes and our group name, Achilles. Was wondering how exactly am I to pronounce it. Checked the dictionary and thanks to what I've learnt in AAE103, this is a simple feat. Actually, I check the dictionary pretty often -what a meaningful creation!

The pictures will do a lot of talking for this entry. Met up with Dage, Weiling, Ke Chin, Rachel, Julia and Minghui for a BBQ at one of the condominiums in East Coast. Look at the different types of staple we had that evening! Beehoon in three different colours, kueh teow, noodles and fried rice.

The usual crabsticks, sausages, satays and chicken wings...

My work - seven , eight, lay them straight! =p

And juicy corn!

Ta dah!!! Dage marinated these wings, which were heavenly!

We also had a mini chocolate fondue and salad. Actually I don't quite enjoy bananas.

A heap of meat on sticks...

Dion, Weiling, Rachel and Julia.

Weiling wore a shower cap so that she could escape from a second wash of her hair for that day.

Smelly, satisfied and smiling!

Dage and Weiling.

Too bad there was no marshmallows and stingrays. Anyway, I enjoy barbecuing food - the flipping, fanning, brushing, smoking... Oops, I mean the smoke from the pit. This was a relaxing gathering though I would love to have more people there - only 10 of us. Am thinking of organising a BBQ now. Tsk tsk tsk.
Tommy and Sharon finally brought me to this eatery in Toa Payoh - sells cheap and good set meals which come with bubble teas! Feast your eyes for the second round! This is Sharon's Chicken Chop with Rice.

This is called the Golden Pillow. Nothing special. Creamy soup (with shreds of chicken, mushrooms, crabsticks and mixed peas) poured into a hole dug in the middle of a thick toast, which was fried. Topped with pork floss, I believe.

This is Tommy's Pork Chop with Rice.

This is my Chicken Chop. I don't fancy rice too.

And my bubble milk tea! Love the pearls, chewy and sweet.

Went to McDonald's to get hot water to make milk for Joash. He really tickled me with his new stunt - hugging the chairs and trying to balance with his legs up! Building up his muscles? My godson is tiny and tenacious!

Went shopping around the heartland and this series of perfume caught my attention. Teaching one how to treat your Dream Girl? Hoho.

Bought facial masks too. Look at their attractive packaging!

This is the sweetest, isn't it? And both Sharon and I bought a top at $5.60 each - same design but different colour. Hers is white and mine is turquoise. This is another cheap thrill to bring the week to a close.

Danny's pupils came in third for a salad competition with his winning recipe - Siam Salad. He mentioned that one female teacher ridiculed him because he was the only male teacher-in-charge out of 76. Seriously, I respect him because of the strong stigma - who says males cannot be brilliant Home Economics teachers? He is one dedicated educator!
Can't wait for this Wednesday to be over - end of my enrichment classes, end of having to discipline pupils who don't know how to behave, end of madness... Anticipating Friday night - off to Cameron and KL with my family... and Orientation Camp immediately after that. Have to reach NIE at 8am after getting back at a predicted time of 11pm on the night before. Hope I won't be exhausted... Hee.
