Who am I, that the Lord of all the earth
Would care to know my name
Would care to feel my hurt
Who am I, that the bright and morning Star
Would choose to light the way
For my ever wandering heart
Not because of who I am
But because of what You've done
Not because of what I've done
But because of who You are
I am a flower quickly fading
Here today and gone tomorrow
A wave tossed in the ocean
A vapor in the wind
Still You hear me when I'm calling
Lord, You catch me when I'm falling
And You've told me who I am
I am Yours, I am Yours
Who am I, that the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
and watch me rise again
Who am I, that the voice that calmed the sea
Would call out through the rain
And calm the storm in me
Look at the new poster boy for Polar's chocolate eclair!
Mich has long and steady hands - perfect for cam whoring, even in the canteen. Hoho.
With Mich. Okay, this is Mich Heng. The one before is Mich Tan. I still have Mich Tong, Mich Ong... ...
It's a bluish green and flowery world? Or turquoise?
With Ker Wee.
Moving from left to right, ideal to real? Hoho.
I've been kissing my lovely friends...
And again...
Great Singapore Sale? Ker Wee at 20% off the usual price. Guess who is the only disinterested person?
Many commented that I look ghostly in this pic... Thought I blended well with the greenery behind.
A joyfully distraught birthday boy... because he couldn't pay the bill? Yes, we were busy snatching the credit card from his hands!
Even Marie (other than Xin and Syl) feels that Joash looks like Ludwig. Please compare and contrast!
Off to rest soon because it's a day dedicated for projects the whole of tomorrow. Test on next Monday and Wednesday. Two projects due next week, together with another reflection. And finally the last project due the following Monday before the final examinations! Everything will be over in three weeks...

A gift from two dear friends (Garion and Jen) a long time ago. It was meant to cheer me up and it still does bring a smile to my face. But I'm so afraid that it stops working one fine day so I had to record the singing.
And this one is on my dearest godson eating his fishball noodles in Canteen A at NTU. He is such an independent darling. Oh, and very cheeky as well!

I am not the typical demure, gentle, soft-spoken, prim and proper woman – wonder if I am penalised on all these in any way. But I suspect any female will be, in one way or another. Reason? Simple – these are stereotypes of the typecast weaker sex! And we are expected to be able to cook, sew and take care of babies. I can do all these but there are still people who think I ought to speak in a coyer manner, be dependent on the opposite sex and appear ever vulnerable. And I was talking about ‘nothing to prove, nothing to lose, and nothing to hide’ not too long ago… *sigh*
Made two new friends today, thanks to Albert. His Chinese-Thai girlfriend is petite and cute. His other friend, James, is an easy-going and kind (lent Albert his tutorials and notes to copy back in Poly days) soul. They found it unbelievable that Albert was such a pain in the neck back in primary school days. Haa. Still, Albert bears an adorably strong resemblance to Jay Chou… and he sings like the celebrity too!

Interesting stuff from sermons…
Nothing to hide, nothing to prove, nothing to lose.
- A deep question I believe I have to perpetually ask myself in life.
Are we borrowing money that we don’t have to buy things we don’t need to impress people we don’t like?
Greed is an expression of fear.
Begin with the end in mind!
- This is of particular significance because I am contemplating doing something with commitment for two whole years.
Do common things uncommonly well.
The Gillian in the past wouldn’t have responded in such a manner. Kept singing in solipsism while staring into thin air. Waited and waited. Accept it – people have different working styles. Still, sometimes I wish I am more confrontational. Got better after some ventilation. Well, a lesson learnt. Or is there something more? I’ve never presented without some form of a rehearsal ever since I stepped into NIE almost four years ago but I did it today. Was praying for a peace that surpasses my understanding to still my soul. He did it again.
Your love brought us together
Your love will never let go
Your love is like a river
Washing restoring my soul
Thank You, Lord
For everything You’ve done for me
Never have I known such love
The love of Calvary
Met up with Stella for her birthday. Simple fare at BK but the catching up was fabulous! This dear friend found a place to belong to. Something came to my mind as we chatted. Believe I can do it with His strength!
With one of my dearest students... Love her smile!
A new tradition - snap a shot and let the colours combine? Haa. And Dr Rani was game for it!
LC bought me a little bee!Isn't it adorable?Suddenly, I'm missing Jojo.
It is Ludwig’s birthday today. LC, Syl and I happened to catch him in the library café. Bought him a slice of cake, sang him another song and made him make a wish before blowing the candle. Haa. Perhaps we did something more than all of these - embarrassed Benny? Hope we didn't spoil their teabreak...
Blessed by my uncle and aunt - dinner at Vienna.

Am TERRIBLY FRUSTRATED at this point of time!!! It's driving my crazy... I can't be stressed with such last-minute work... This is one strong con for group works (though I admit I like working with certain groups). Am trembling slightly with fear and disappointment... No more... No more...
Test of my patience? Think I am taking it too hard - gastritis acting up... ... Thank God I know my style of stress management. Blog / block it out? Haa.

There were many unkind remarks made during AMX tutorial about Christians today. Unfortunately, Sharon and I agreed that those were the truths about many fanatics who tell you straight in your face that 'You will go to hell if you don't believe in Jesus'. There are just Christians who lack the tact and sensitivity. How can I go about changing these stereotypes? It was uncomfortable but the lesson was meant to be. Went to Canteen A with my three ‘lovers’ for lunch. Haha. Had curry chicken rice and guess we were rushing for time, so much so that I forgot to take a picture of it. It was priced rather steeply considering the location of the stall. Would rate it seven out of ten - it wasn't warm and spicy enough. Had a great meeting with DKD because she was very forthcoming with her remarks. Her office was almost bursting with books and papers, and very cosy. Syl and I also went to DRT’s room – wanted to say ‘hi’. It was a pity she was busy with her students and so we left promptly. Another two more days before the weekend. 宝云加油!

DROWNING... ...
Wanted so much to upload all the beautiful pictures I took at Vienna but... And many of my good friends' birthdays are in October! Time is so precious!
What's in my head now? Reliability, validity, practicality, authenticity and washback. Features of Filipino English. Scaffolding. Enduring understandings and big ideas. Semiotics and multimodalities. Standard deviation. Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve field trip. Presentations. Reports. Multiracialism and multiculturalism.
And finally, sleep!

Had a Popiah Party at Mum's stall last Sunday. Esther was modestly posing with my shades while waiting for the train. Cool!
It was a pity Pearlyn, Dage, Wei and a few others couldn't make it. Aunt Tina's popiahs were generously stuffed with ingredients and rolled with wonderful love!
The Sohs...
With my lovely princesses... whom I love to tease...
Love Lurve?
Met one of my sons, Elson. Called me Ah Bu in front of my friends when we were in the bookshop! (*.*)
Another who called me 'mummy' - Jasper. Should try to get Daphanie's picture as well for my collection since she calls me 'mummy' too. Haa. Unrelated relatives? Jasper suggested a gathering for the Achilles after the examinations and got me all excited!
I thought it was gone for good but thanks to Qiye, TomSumJo and I had dinner at Canteen A once again - Sharon and I had food from the Japanese stall. Reminiscing about good old times?
Marvelous Marie bought me this packet of gummy!
Couldn't resist getting Dear. Haha. Ernie and Mich love Dear too!
There is no other love like Yours You were waiting for me I was looking for You Finally found love that is true Jesus You are You're my living God
Once upon a time I was confused Desperately in search of something Only You could bring me Finally arrived at the good news You were always there Just waiting for my call Ready to
Restore to me the confidence I lost You've given my life that's full of Hope and expectation Radiating love from off the cross Where You died for me And shed Your cleansing blood
The five tiny larva are still wriggling away! Hardy creatures - it has been a week since I poured the layer of oil into the cup. Do their breathing tubes really work? This made me think twice if all living creatures really require oxygen to survive. Let's see how long they are going to keep me surprised!
DKD used the word 'ulu' in class and we broke into peals of laughter. It's just so ludicrous to hear that word coming out from her mouth. Her project is challenging - Sylvia and I are cracking our brains over it! Received a nice grade for my last record of study despite an embarrassingly pathetic amount of effort compared to several of my past works. Perhaps I should make it a blog entry. Haa.
Met DSM in the library. He said he couldn't work in his office! He's always asking July for his 'best friend', who has been absent for his lectures and tutorials. As a matter-of-fact, the marginal utility of his lessons is going downhill for almost all of us... And I am not talking about the law of diminishing returns!
Was talking with Syl. We miss DRT. It's rare to find another tutor who is as approachable, dedicated and sweet as her - a common consensus among a few of us. Call us her fans? Haa. It really shows when a tutor puts in genuine effort to teach.
It's Saturday tomorrow. Tuitions. Have to meet for projects too. When will Sabbath come?

Made a startling discovery today – a glass of wrigglers in varied sizes in my mum’s bathroom. Am tickled by how they wriggle with such vigor and shocked at how mum has accidentally put our health at risk. Took pictures and a video. Before I left for school, I decided to pour a layer of oil into the glass – end the oxygen supply for these little creatures’ survival. After I got home from tuition, most of the bigger ones were lifeless. Eeww…
Bought something for mum and dad to relieve their body aches – not that I am running from being their masseuse, but my school work and tuition assignments are preventing me from having the luxury of time to massage for them. Besides, I usually am exhausted by the time I reach home daily. It wasn’t terribly expensive but it’s the thought that counts, right? Dad sat in a pretty funny manner for this picture – too upright!
Bumped into Tianyu on my way to school today! Haven’t seen him for so long. He’s doing translation (Japanese to English and vice versa) in a company and still as cool as ever – man of few words since secondary school days. I couldn’t tolerate the silence and bombarded him with questions, to which almost all were returned with a one-word answer. Tsk tsk tsk. Stark contrast to the interviewer? Haa.
Finished my presentation with Marie for an elective yesterday. Stressful! We had to shift to a lecture hall because the projector and the computer in the tutorial room were faulty and there was no other available tutorial room. I was panicking when I had reached the room 35 minutes before hand and couldn’t even switch the computer on successfully. We felt weird having to use the microphone – insisted by our tutor – and stand on the elevated platform in the lecture hall. Thankfully, I was too dressed down to be mistaken for a tutor. Haha. Still, because I share the same surname as our tutor, a few of my friends jokingly addressed me as Dr Tan. *roll eyes*

Was completely appalled at and disgusted with one of my tutees’ behaviour, and I am not apologetic at all when I say this. Despite being late (and this is not the first time), she walked past me without any form of acknowledgement (no eye contact) and failed to greet me after opening the door without knocking! I was initially merely displeased and told her off mildly, expecting a simple ‘sorry’. However, she repeatedly ignored my questions and when I asked if she was unhappy with me, she replied ‘no’ when all her facial and physical expressions (such as rolling her eyes in an absolutely irritating manner) were shouting otherwise. It was lucid she felt indignant about being reprimanded – played with and threw her stationery loudly on her desk. Imagine, she is only thirteen! Where are all her basic manners? The most ironic of all, she is from 1 Respect of XX Primary School. Believe most of them are shocked at my outburst – Tze Ying mentioned that it was my first time being so fierce. Seriously, I am still pretty cross – what has she been learning?
On a happier note, I have no regrets working with Ling and QY. They could be the funniest persons alive! I was practically laughing non-stop while teasing QY with Ling during a group project discussion. Ling and her endless anecdotes about her beau (AGK) simply tickle me. Am so glad I gave myself this opportunity to work with them – the friendship forged is priceless.
Sweet Pearlyn bought me a ginormous donut on Monday - had it for lunch.
Azman (no idea if I spelt his name correctly) was so well dressed today that I couldn't resist taking a picture of him. He was blushing when I made that sudden request. He even brought us snacks!
Had dinner with dad on Saturday and he found the Hot Devil drumlets at KFC too spicy.
This was a rare discovery - was wondering what this little black lump was doing on my rice when I decided to take a closer look.
I was rewarded with something extra for patronising XX stall - a baby snail! And I was almost done with my plate of food. So cute!!!
My throbbing neck pain was cured after soaking in this tub of bubbling water at my aunt's place. Amazing! They call it 'Spa'.
What is wrong? Easy...
The seemingly endless and countless projects are all screaming for attention simultaneously. Frightening!

Picnic at West Coast on Children's Day! Love my camera! Love the kites! Love the sky! Love the sun! Love the playgrounds! Love the little ones! Okay, the big ones as well! Haa. Got a slight tan but totally insufficient.
I have the sudden urge to scan the pictures I took in Melbourne because I only have the hard copies. Will do so during the holidays. Somebody please remind me? Haha. And also to collate pictures of me with my choice facial expression? (*o*)
Jaymin is pregnant with her second child - very productive! When will my second godchild come? Hee.
Have two weddings to attend near Christmas - triple joys?
Met PY on the bus and I forgot how but we ended up on the topic of homosexuality. I still cannot fathom exactly the reasons why people enjoy being in such relationships. Nonetheless, they are still my friends...
I hope all the wonderful outings will be memorable to the little ones - quality time spent is one extravagant love language!
Thought I managed to shun it. But I was wrong. Face it then.
-9:51 PM
Joash had a 'great' tan from the picnic today - red red nose and arms...
Took Esther for a swim during my one week recess break! She loves water!
Went to JB again with TomSumJo and finally purchased the Bamboo Charcoal Sandwich - nothing fantastic and costly. It was a novelty to have them with ham and cheese for breakfast though.
Also celebrated Didar's 21st birthday! Unfortunately, I forgot to bring along my extra battery and didn't manage to take pictures of him being punked.
I had sushi balls for dinner at Aunt Ruby's place. Interesting - rice with bits of barbercued pork rolled into balls.
Joash has all kinds of weird postures for pictures!
Looks like Joash had a terrible time eating but he had two bowls of chawamushi!
